Police searching for man who robbed Modesto bank A suspect entered the Cost Less grocery store located on North Carpenter Road in Modesto and proceeded to the Guaranty Bank branch inside of the store at approximately 10:45 a.m. The suspect demanded money from a teller and was given an undisclosed amount. Police were looking for a light-skinned man with a goatee who robbed a west Modesto bank in a grocery store Monday morning.
No one was injured during the robbery.
The man walked into Cost Less market, at 901 N. Carpenter Road, about 10:45 a.m., police reported.
He went to the Guaranty Bank branch inside the store and demanded money from the teller. He ran away after receiving an undisclosed amount of cash. No weapon was seen during the incident.
The man, who appeared to be in his 20s, was described as 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds, with dark hair and a goatee. He was wearing blue jeans, a black baseball cap and a black hooded sweat shirt with the hood pulled over his head.
Authorities ask anyone with information about this robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 521-4636. Tipsters can e-mail Crime Stoppers, or text tips to CRIMES (274637) by typing "Tip704" plus the message. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
